Top 10 Children Christmas Activities

Christmas is not just about presents and a huge amount of turkey - in the run up to the big day, there's opportunity for lots of fun childrens Christmas activities. After all, why should Christmas just be about one day? Spread the joy this Christmas and get your kids involved in as many festive fun days as possible...all without leaving the house! Here are Funtime Bounce's Top 10 Childrens Christmas Activities.

1. Handprint Christmas Tree

Go back to basics with good, old-fashioned, messy fun with our Handprint Christmas Tree. Let the kids get gunky with green paint for colourful childrens Christmas activities. Let the kids dunk their hands into a bowl of bright green paint. Splodge handprints onto card, and cut them out. Layer the handprints for a spruce-like effect, and then decorate with glitter and buttons. Ta da!

2. Snowball Dippers

Childrens Christmas activities also include making (and eating) delicious and themed treats, and these are one of our firm favourites. This recipe makes 10 dippers, and, once cooled, these can be dipped into warm milk or hot chocolate, or can be wrapped up and given as gifts.

Melt a 150g bar of dark chocolate in a bowl over a saucepan of hot water. Push a lollipop or cake pop stick into 10 large marshmallows. Holding the end of the stick, dip a marshmallow into the chocolate until completely coated. Leave for 1 minute to cool slightly, then dip the chocolate covered marshmallow into a bowl of white hundreds and thousands. Leave to set and move on to your next childrens Christmas activity...devouring them!

3. Ice Princess Bouncy Castle

Turn bad weather into one of our childrens Christmas activities with Funtime Bounce's Ice Princess Bouncy Castle. Perfect for an icy day, blow up this colourful inflatable indoors and have yourselves a wintry themed bounce party. No matter the weather, the kids get some exercise, and you can guarantee lots of giggles along the way. Play bouncy castle related games, such as who can bounce the highest, and award chocolate coins as prizes. Elton John may have wanted us to "Step into Christmas", but at Funtime Bounce, we encourage you and your little angels to bounce into Christmas!

4. Handmade Wrapping Paper

Do you have a little artist in the family? Then why not add making handmade wrapping paper to your list of childrens Christmas activities? Simply draw your favourite festive icon in crayon, pencils or gold and silver pens, and wrap your Christmas presents in handmade, creatively illustrated and personalised gift wrap - something a little more sentimental than shop bought sheets. Ideas for icons include a wrapped present, stars, snowmen, holly, baubles, bells, wreaths, santa hats, snowflakes and candy canes.

5. Christmas Pudding Rice Krispie Cakes

Baking festive treats has to be one of our favourite childrens Christmas activities, and this little gem of a recipe is a Christmas twist on a year-round favourite. Mix 50g of Rice Krispies with 30g of raisins. Melt 40g of butter with 2 tbsp of honey and 100g of milk chocolate and stir into the rice krispie mixture. Roll mixture into balls and leave in cupcake cases to chill until firm. To decorate, melt some white chocolate to act as white sauce, and pop a ready-made holly icing leaf on top. Delicious, familiar and yummy yuletide fun for kids of all ages!

6. Rodeo Reindeer

For all those familiar with the bucking bronco, Funtime Bounce presents the festive version - the Rodeo Reindeer. This game suits adults and childrens Christmas activities, and would be the perfect addition to a family Christmas fun day. Rudolph will buck and spin his way through your Christmas event, whilst your family cling to stay on. There is the possibility for running competitions for who can stay on the longest for that extra bit of Chrimbo competitiveness. Whatever your Christmas gathering, Funtime Bounce's rodeo reindeer is bound to get your little elves screaming for more festive fun.

7. Photo Star

Tired of your plain star? Why not help your little ones make something a little more sentimental? Enjoy looking through family pictures, and get your child to choose their favourite. Then using card and gold foil, or glitter and stickers, or even yellow paint, cut out two large star shapes from the card, and cut a square into the middle of one of the stars. Stick the picture onto the unpainted side of the card without a hole, and stick the card with a hole in it on top of the picture, creating a frame. Hang this from your mantelpiece, on your front door, or, perfectly, put it on top of your Christmas tree.

8. Pass the Sprout

A twist on a classic game, Pass the Sprout is one of the funniest childrens Christmas activities we've ever played. You'll need a whole ton of green tissue paper, some googly eyes and lots of Christmas treats. Wrap the main prize in tissue paper and roll into a ball. Then layer the small treats - be they sweets, toys or jokes - into the next few layers of tissues, until you have a substantial ball of green. Tape the tissue paper together, and place the googly eyes on the finished product. Ta da - you have your Sprout! For a more adventurous game, place forfeits in with the treats, so that you can only claim your treat if you complete the forfeit. Christmas mischief!

9. Santa's Grotto

Save Grandad from having to scale the roof tiles this year by hiring Funtime Bounce's Santa's Grotto. Whether you throw a children's party at your local village hall, want childrens Christmas activities for a town fete, or just want a special treat in the back garden for your little ones, this colourful, welcoming grotto will comfortably house your Santa, and ensure that the children leave with a smile on their faces, having let Santa know exactly what they want in their stocking. This exquisite grotto comes with white picket fencing around a snowy area, a large green covered tree, a snowy lantern and two cheeky polar bears.

10. Inflatable Snow Globe

Our last offering in our list of childrens Christmas activities has to be the most extravagant - the inflatable life-size snow globe. Funtime Bounce offer this superlative snowy wonderland as an addition to formal events, as well as a beautiful addition to your back yard for a special seasonal surprise. Have family photos taken inside the winter wonderland and use the pictures as Christmas cards for family and friends. Or just enjoy the magic of a fake snow filled snow globe to get you and your kids in the ultimate Christmas mood!

Best Christmas Gifts - Our Top 5

Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year. The festive season takes a lot of preparation, and so, we thought it prudent to compile a list of the best Christmas gifts possible.

1 . An Intercontinental Crimbo

First up is a classic Christmas tradition practiced by thousands across the country - an overseas getaway. Everyone loves going on holiday, whether they want to get away from the monotonous routine of the everyday rat race, or just get away from the cold winter weather. This makes an intercontinental Crimbo the perfect present for your stressed or strung out family. Take yourselves away to the gorgeous coastlines of Brazil or, if you're feeling adventurous, the crystalline tundra of Iceland. While Christmas abroad can be costly, it is one of the best Christmas presents you can give.

2 . A Handcrafted Christmas Decoration

One of the best Christmas gifts we have ever received was not a shop bought trinket, but a lovingly handcrafted decoration. This inexpensive and personal gift will not break the bank, but is more meaningful than many things that you can buy. This is the kind of gift that endures, as we said, we think of the decoration as one of the best Christmas gifts we've ever received. You can easily give someone that same joyous feeling by sewing or crafting them a personalised decoration.

3 . A Marvellously Merry Mixtape

Another gift with a personal touch is what we like to call a merry mixtape. This is a CD or playlist full of festive songs and tracks that hold special meaning for the receiver. While this gift involves a little bit of subject research, it is completely worth it to see the receiver take out your thoughtfully compiled playlist every holiday season and to witness the joy it brings them in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

4 . A Funtime Bounce Christmas Extravaganza

If you're looking for something a bit more high-end, you could throw your family and friends a Christmas Extravaganza featuring our range of party hire products, which will be remembered by your guests as one of their best Christmas gifts ever. Entertain your adult guests - and that one family member who prefers not to remember most of the festive season - with our Frozen Martini Champagne Hire. Rudolph the Rodeo Reindeer will go down a treat with your adult guests as well as it will go down with littler members of your guest list, as will our super fun Ice Princess Bouncy Castle and our Christmas Disco.

5 . The Perfect Family Christmas

This next gift is the most simplistic and meaningful of all. What better way to celebrate is there than a fun filled family Christmas, with a proper Christmas dinner and endless laughter. While gifts are nice to receive, often, what people want most at Christmas, is to spend quality time with their nearest and dearest. Family Christmas doesn't have to be expensive, and it doesn't have to be extravagant, however it will always be close to the heart. Be it humble, huge, over the top or under the radar, a fantastic family Christmas will always be one of the best Christmas gifts you can give.

Funtime Freshers Party: Inflatable Fun for Freshers Fortnight.

The summer's nearly over, but that doesn't mean that the fun is at an end - Fresher's Fortnight is almost upon us, and we at Funtime Bounce are gearing up with our bouncy castle party hire.

Yes, bouncy castles. Move over foam parties, as the inflatable infatuation hits your freshers party, no matter which University you attend. Start your academic year on a high as you bounce into student life on one of our adult inflatables - we offer a range of bouncy castle party hire, including the popular giant 19ft adults bouncy castle. Sail into your University experience on the pirate themed 75ft Galleon inflatable, or become the hero of halls by challenging your housemates to the ultimate competition on our mammoth Mega115ft Obstacle Course. Throw off your dancing shoes and leap into an exciting Freshers Fortnight.

Fancy something a little more adventurous for your freshers party? Our bouncy castle party hire includes rodeo hires. Try the traditional Rodeo Bull, opt for the bizarre with our Rodeo Corn on the Cob, or go for something a little cheekier with our Bucking Willy Rodeo - after all, we're all about "go hard or go home".

A word to the wise, though - please bounce responsibly. Twelve shots of vodka at a pound each from the Union bar followed by a rodeo ride or bouncy slide equals vomit. We want you to have the time of your life, not freshers flu from the first day, so don't ignore the alcohol-free events that your University will provide. Sure, a jug of cocktails at the Hawaiian-themed night is almost an induction to student life, but a two-week hangover is not a given. To include all new students to Uni life, there will be a freshers party for those who choose not to drink due to religious or personal reasons, so why not have a day off from the jaegerbombs and join a quiz, party games event, a movie night or a sports competition. Funtime Bounce's bouncy castle party hire range can accommodate every type of freshers party, with our karaoke hires, gunge dunk tanks and oversized party games.

Whatever your theme for your freshers party, Funtime Bounce are proud to be a part of one of the most memorable (we hope) times of your life.
